The highly anticipated Chevy Volt, the extended-range hybrid electric car from General Motors, is on a limited tour of the US and is right now making it’s way around the San Francisco Bay Area.
What’s special about the Volt?
Unlike other hybrids, the Volt is designed to be plugged into any 110-volt electrical outlet for charging and can travel up to 40-miles round trip using no gas and producing no emissions.
For longer trips, the Volt has a FlexFuel engine that can run on gas, E85 ethanol, or a combination of the two, and creates additional electricity to extend the range to 640 miles and triple-digit MPG.
