A couple of years ago there was a rumor floating around about Netflix developing a set-top box for streaming movies.
The story is back and this time it looks like its for real.
Netflix annonced that it is working on a set-top box with LG Electronics that will allow subscribers to stream movies over the Internet to their television.
No real details yet, but I would expect that we’d hear something soon.
Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix, hopes this is “the first of many such deals” and that he would love to see “a hundred Netflix-capable boxes.”
This device could be embed into other devices, so maybe he’ll get his wish…
