Electric vehicle manufacturer Zap announced today that they will be showing off new “made for iPod” electric cars at Macworld 2008 opening next week.

More info about the JVC Everio GZ-MG730, the smallest hard drive camcorder around

The folks over at Gizmodo were able to go hands-on with the new JVC Everio GZ-MG730 hard drive camcorder.
Featuring a 30GB hard drive, 2.7-inch screen, f/1.8 Konica Minolta lens, and 10x zoom, the GZ-MG730 is apparently still small enough to fit into a large pocket.
According to them its light and fits well in the hand, [...]

Golden Globe awards canceled?

This is just a rumor for now but expect confirmation one way or the other soon since the Golden Globes are scheduled to take place on January 13…the rumor is that because of the writers strike in Hollywood and the Writers Guild picket lines, the Golden Globes award show, scheduled to be aired on NBC, [...]

DirecTV tuner, DVR for Windows finally draws near

This is one of my favorite CES announcements so far…
First talked about at CES two years ago, there has been very little news about the DirecTV tuner that could turn a Windows Media Center PC into a DirecTV tuner/DVR.
Finally, two years later, news hits: Introducing the DirecTV HDPC-20.
The HDPC-20 is a dual tuner that [...]

The Mac Pro now comes with Intel new 45nm quad-core Peryn Xeon 5400 CPU running at up to 3.2GHz.
The new Mac Pros start at $2,799 and come [...]

Blu-ray and HD DVD are neighbors on the CES show floor

Poor, poor HD DVD…even on the CES show floor they are in the shadow of Blu-ray.
There really isn’t too much to say about this situation that hasn’t already been said.
Oh, irony…

Is Paramount leaving HD DVD for Blu-ray? [UPDATED]

This is just a rumor at this point, but the Financial Times is reporting that Paramount is preparing to use a “get out” clause in its HD DVD exclusivity deal to switch to the Blu-ray camp instead.
As you might remember, Paramount was support both formats until this past August when Paramount and Dreamworks signed on [...]

Video interview of Bill Gates explaining the different between Microsoft and Apple

Okay, now I’ve broken my “no videos” rule twice in one day but it’s for Bill Gates (again) so its cool.
Gizmodo had a chance to sit down with Bill for a few minutes after his keynote at CES and asked him about the difference between how Apple and Microsoft approach product releases.
Its an interesting view [...]
