More rumors about HD DVD defectors…a couple of days ago a rumor about Paramount dropping HD DVD in favor of Blu-ray was floating around. Paramount denied it, but the rumor’s back and this time it’s also with Universal.
According to Bill Hunt at Digital Bits, a reliable source says that both Universal and Paramount are in the process of going to Blu-ray.
There haven’t been any official announcements as of yet, but Paramount could be announcing this change any time now and Universal will follow in February at the earliest because “their contract period with the HD DVD camp expires at the end of January.”
