Previously available for $299.99, the DirecTV HR20 and HR21 HD DVR’s are had a $100 price drop and are now selling for $199.99.
What’s the difference between the HR20 and HR21?
As best I can tell, the difference is that the HR20 has an ATSC tuner for OTA (over the air) HD broadcasts where the HR21 does not, and the HR21 has 2 Ethernet ports while the HR20 doesn’t seem to have any.
New customers will be able to get an additional $99 off via rebate.
If you’re existing customer, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to get a deal of your own if you talk with a customer service representative and mention that you’re considering switching to cable because of the deals they have and ask what they can do for you.
I’ve been waiting for the price to drop, but now I can’t help but wonder if it’s a sign that the HDPC-20 is about to go on sale?
