iPhone 1.1.3 firmware problems for GoPhone users [UPDATED]

I wasn’t even aware that the iPhone could be used on AT&T’s GoPhone program, but apparently it can and 1.1.3 breaks things.
What’s GoPhone?
That’s what AT&T call their pay as you go, prepaid mobile phone service.
Apparently after upgrading to the 1.1.3 firmware the EDGE connection breaks, so no wireless data except for via Wi-Fi.
