In August of 2006, Canon announced the current generation Rebel XTi (also called the 400D), a very popular and successful high-end consumer-level DSLR camera.
With the PMA (Photo Marketing Association) show starting on January 31 (a big show for photo geeks), many people think that the time is right for a replacement to the Rebel XTi to be announced, and what better place to do it?
If the rumors are right, the Rebel XTs/450D will feature at least some of the following:
- LiveView (the ability to see what your camera sees on the LCD like point-and-shoots do)
- Video capability
- DIGIC III image processor
- Bigger LCD (from 2.5-inches to 3-inches)
- ISO up to 3200 and the ability to shoot 5 frames per second
- Image stabilization
- Improved autofocus
- Price around $599
Canon is due for a new product announcement, so hopefully we’ll hear something soon…
UPDATE: Canon has just announced the 450D! Check on the details here.
