In 2001 Microsoft released Windows XP and love it or hate it, its still got many more fans than Windows Vista does.
Did you know that June 30 is the date when Microsoft will stop selling Windows XP?
For fans of Vista (yes, there are some) thats no big deal, but for others that’s very bad news, especially if you’re planning to buy a new computer later this year and want Windows XP preloaded.
An online petition has been started with the hops of getting Microsoft to continue to sell Windows XP “indefinitely.”
The petition organizers compare Windows XP to a comfortable apartment:
“It’s like having a comfortable apartment that you’ve enjoyed coming home to for years, only to get an eviction notice…for most of us, there’s really no reason to move to [Vista]–yet we don’t have a choice.”
I wonder if they’re talking about the same Windows XP that I use everyday that sucks?
Vista is also compared to Windows ME (Millennium Edition), the undisputed king of bad Windows versions…I think they’ve forgotten just how bad Windows ME was.
