Charter accidentally erases 14,000 email accounts

Just a couple days after Consumer Reports released the results of their customer satisfaction survey, Charter proves why they belong at the bottom of the list.

While allegedly trying to clear out unused accounts, Charter Communications accidentally and irretrievably erased 14,000 active email accounts.

Affected customers are being given a $50, which sounds far from fair for the lost of all of your email messages and attachments.

Anita Lamont, a spokeswoman for Charter, said that “there is no way to retrieve the messages, photos and other attachments that were erased from inboxes and archive folders across the country on Monday…we really are sincerely sorry for having had this happen and do apologize to all those folks who were affected by the error.”

Oops.
