Sony has announced that the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 5 Prologue title will be released in North America on April 17 for $39.99 and will be available as a Blu-ray disc and as a downloadable title from the Playstation Store.
Features of the game will include:
- Fifty cars and five race tracks, including Fuji Speedway, Suzuka Circuit, and for the first time ever, Daytona International Speedway.
- All-new interior dash view puts you in the driver’s seat like never before.
- Race online with up to 16 players to prove your skills.
- New online community features including Gran Turismo TV, featuring worldwide automotive and motorsport programming.
- Rendered in beautiful 1080p at 60fps with crisp, realistic lighting effects (replays rendered in 1080p 30fps).
The downloadable and Blu-ray versions of the game will be the same. The difference will be that the Blu-ray version will also include a behind-the-scenes high definition video called “Beyond the Apex,” a look at the developer (Polyphony Digital) and some background about how they are able to create such a realistic game.
