The FCC auction that is currently underway for the 700MHz C block auction and while bidding is anonymous, early word is that Verizon could be in the lead.
What about Google?
It’s assumed that Google will bail on the auction once bidding has gotten above the magic number of $4.6 billion required to ensure the frequency range is open. Google’s not saying that, of course, but its believed that Google has little interested in actually owning the block, just in it being open.
