Yahoo decision on Microsoft deal coming today? [UPDATE]

According to TechCrunch, sources have informed them that Yahoo’s board is having a special meeting today to determine whether or not to accept Microsoft’s acquisition offer.

The board has allegedly being told by outside advisers to accept the deal, but its believed that there are some senior board members at Yahoo that would literally do anything to thwart the takeover attempt (short of a hostage situation, I assume).

If the deal is rejected, what’s next for Microsoft? Will they attempt a hostile takeover of Yahoo as some are suggesting?

Should Microsoft have even made this offer in the first place?

My personal feeling is no, but now that it has been made lets see what happens…I’ll update this post when I hear anything new…

UPDATE: Looks like todays meeting was just a telephone conference. An in-person board meeting will be taking place Wednesday, February 13th.
