According to a story at Reuters, a source at Toshiba has told them that the company is in the final stages of planning for an exit from the HD DVD business.
This move mean Toshiba would cease development and production of HD DVD hardware and software, and would close its DVD factory in Aomori Prefecture, Japan.

A few weeks ago word came out about a photo frame that Best Buy was selling under the Insignia brand that shipped with a trojan virus.

Another release date for the Everex Cloudbook comes and goes.
Today was the day the $399 UMPC from Everex was to be released but something must have been not quite right and the release date has slipped again. Not by much–just until February 21st–but it has slipped.
