According to Gamerscore Blog, in light of Toshiba’s and the major studios decisions to drop HD DVD, Microsoft is following suit and doing the same.
If their story is correct, Microsoft will no longer be manufacturing the Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on drive but will continue supporting those already in the market.
There doesn’t seem to be a press release about this yet so for right now I’m considering this story a rumor until I see more proof but I expect this to be proven true…
UPDATE: I’ve seen this now in enough places now to believe it–so long, Xbox 360 HD DVD player.
