DreamWorks Animation isn’t quite ready to jump to the Blu-ray disc bandwagon.
According to DreamWorks Chief Executive Jeffrey Katzenberg, they “have a partnership with Toshiba and have an obligation to see this through…we have been well-compensated for our support. It really is in their court at this point to really declare what the next step will be.”
It would seem that DreamWorks hasn’t found a way out of their HD DVD contract yet like everyone else has. I suppose it could also be some over-the-top loyalty to the format, but…we are talking about business AND Hollywood so that is pretty much impossible.
