Create your own e-cards with Phreetings and Flickr

If you’re looking to send an electronic greeting card to someone and want one that doesn’t suck, you can try one of these sites or you can try Phreetings.

Phreetings lets you create your own e-card using any picture shared in Flickr.

Just enter a few search words for the type of picture you want and a grid of thumbnails will show up with the results of your search. Drag and drop the one you want to use into the preview screen, add your text, and the URL to see your creation is there at the bottom of the page.

Just send that URL to whoever you want to receive your e-card and that’s it.

I just checked it out and there seems to be an HTML or CSS problem on the page–things don’t layout very well right now when you’re getting your search together–but it does work and might be worth checking out if you’re having trouble finding an e-card you like elsewhere.

Being able to choose from so many pictures is nice, but the cards themselves are pretty boring.
