After laying off around 1,000 employees, Yahoo has announced that they will be expanding in India with plans to establish a new lab that will focus on long-term research.
Its not sure known at this point exactly how many people Yahoo will be hiring, but the number is believed to be around 500.

This is a bit scary…Adam Boileau, a computer security consultant in New Zealand, found a way to by pass Windows XP security using the Firewire port. Just connect a Firewire cable from a Linux computer to a Windows XP machine, run a command, and you’re in–the Windows machine is unlocked.

Another score for Microsoft’s Silverlight. After hooking the Library of Congress, Microsoft has now found another ally for its Silverlight platform in Nokia who today announced that they would begin including the Silverlight plugin on all of its handsets and tablets.

Razer, maker of PC accessories aimed at PC gamers, has introduced a new entry-level mouse called “Salmosa”.

The Wall Street Journal had a chance to speak with Toshiba CEO Atsutoshi Nishida about HD DVD, who admitted that once Warner left the format there was no chance of it surviving.

According to a post in The Nikkei, Pioneer will stop producing their own plasma panels. That doesn’t mean that they will stop making and selling plasma TV’s, just that they will no longer be making their own plasma panels to go in them.
