Beatles not coming to iTunes?

Remember that story the other day about the Beatles music finally coming to iTunes thanks to a $400 million deal by Paul McCartney made? The story that pretty much EVERYBODY (including me here) reported?
Apple is saying that this is “unsubstantiated spectulation,” and EMI and Apple Corps. (the Beatles publishing company, not Steve Jobs’ Apple in Cupertino) and saying no comment.
Maybe there actually is a deal in place but no one can talk about the details right now? Or maybe there really isn’t a deal?
It will eventually go through…one day. Probably. Why it hasn’t yet? No idea.
