Microsoft has confirmed that the next version of Windows, currently still called Windows 7, is coming in 2010.
When exactly they can’t say (obviously–that’s a ways off still), but do say that they will give a release date when Windows 7 “meets its quality bar for release.”
By “meets its quality bar for release” I hope they don’t mean “eh, more good than bad–box it up.” Maybe they’ve learned a thing or two from their Vista launch and will handle Windows 7 a bit differently.
