Opting for an SSD (Solid-State Disk) add quite a bit to the price of a notebook computer so its better, right?
Its not looking that way, especially if this story is true.

Today Microsoft has officially released Service Pack 1 for their Windows Vista operating system.
According to Microsoft, “SP1 will contain changes focused on addressing specific reliability, performance, and compatibility issues; supporting new types of hardware; and adding support for several emerging standards.”

Apple has just released an update to their Safari web browser, bring it to version 3.1.
They claim that Safari is the fastest web browser around, able to load web pages 1.9x faster than IE7 and 1.7x faster than FireFox 2, and run JavaScript up to 6x faster than any other browser.

Some people like the new look and feel of Office 2007, some don’t. Those that don’t really, really hate it.
Microsoft doesn’t give you a way change the look and feel back to, say, Office 2003, but an add-on I just found by Addintools looks like it will do the trick.

Amazon thinks so and have listed March 18th as the release date on their Vista comparison page.
DailyTech agrees and says that the final version of SP1 will be available for download tomorrow and says that retail versions will be in stores on Wednesday.
