Amazon still struggling to keep up with orders for Kindle

amazon_kindleWhen Amazon’s $399 Kindle e-paper first launched, opinions were mixed on how successful it would be. Including 3G for downloading on the go was a nice addition, but other e-book readers haven’t been big hits so why should the Kindle.

Its a hit.

Here we are, four months after launch, and still Amazon is unable to keep up with demand even though they claim to have repeatedly increased “its ability to make more of the 6-inch e-paper device.”

Recent orders may take as long as six weeks to arrive, but Amazon has a plan to end the draught in the next few weeks and finally have enough devices to meet the demand and their goal of “order today, and we ship today.”
