PS3 firmware 2.20 coming soon, adding Blu-ray Profile 2.0 support

The recently releases 2.17 firmware for the Sony Playstation 3 didn’t really add a whole lot, but the next scheduled firmware release, looks to make up for it.
Firmware v2.20 will be coming soon and will include:
- Support for Blu-ray Profile 2.0 (also known as BD-Live), making the PS3 the first Blu-ray player on the market to support this profile.
- The ability to copy PS3 Music and Photo playlists to a PSP.
- The ability to play DivX and WMV files larger than 2GB.
- Resume Play, allowing you to resume playing a DVD or Blu-ray movie from where you had previously stopped it, even if you eject the disc and insert a different movie or game.
- The ability to use a PSP as a remote control to play back music from your PS3 without having to turn on your TV.
- Upgraded web browser with faster browsing and a Save Target option to allow you to save a file to your PS3 hard drive or storage media.
A few other tweaks and upgrades are also expected in firmware 2.20 but Sony isn’t saying what they are until closer to the firmware’s release date.
No date is given yet for when we should expect the new firmware to be released, but the first BD-Live discs, The 6th Day and Walk Hard, are being released on April 8th, so on or just before the 8th would be a good guess.
