
GPS maker Mio announced today in a press release that their new ‘Moov’ line of GPS units are coming to the US.
Kiyoshi Hamai, North American sales director for Mio, says “Our goal is to bring GPS navigation to everyone…by combining world class hardware with a newly-designed interface we are able to deliver a fantastic navigation experience at a fantastic price. Knowing where you’re going is no longer a luxury.”
The new devices are the first to includes Mio’s own mapping software (after the Navman acquisition) and include maps of the US and Puerto Rico and have more than 3.5 million points of interest.
The Mio Moov 200 ($180) and 210 ($200) each have a 3.5-inch square screen, text-to-speech, and the 210 comes with a one free year of TMC real-time traffic updates.
The Mio Moov 300 ($230) and 310 ($250) each have a 4.3-inch anti-glare widescreen, text-to-speech, and the 310 comes with one free year of TMC real-time traffic updates.
The 200 and 300 don’t have a TMC module, so if you think you might want traffic-data at some point you might as well spend the extra $20 and go for the 210 or 310.
Each of the new Mio Moov’s also features the SiRFstar III chipset and SiRFInstantFix II technology to acquire a position fix in as little as five seconds.
All four models will be available in stores on April 1.
