No official word yet on who the new announcers will be in the upcoming Madden ‘09 video game, but there’s a good chance the team won’t include John Madden himself.
EA audio director Aubrey Hodges said in an interview that “we are making a change in the Madden commentators. I can’t mention who they are. We are using some of the biggest names in the business. We listened to the fans and we are making a change. And that will be more than one. It will be a fantastic year for Madden fans, I think they’re gonna be thrilled with this new direction. I don’t think I can say much more than that.”
A Madden game without Madden himself sounds strange at first, but considering the fact that many fans have grown tired of hearing Madden the change might not be a bad thing.
