Users of Microsoft Messenger for Mac’s eager for an update can now get their fix–Microsoft has released version 7 of their instant messaging program.
The biggest addition in this version is support for full audio/video conferencing between Mac’s and PC’s.

Oops, looks like Microsoft has found a compatibility problem with Service Pack 3 that was to be released today so while there are ways to still get it now you’re best bet is to hold off until things are sorted out and the download appears in Windows Update.

Canadian GSM carrier Rogers today confirmed that the Apple iPhone was finally coming to Canada this year.
Rogers CEO and founder Ted Rogers said “we’re thrilled to announce that we have a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Canada later this year…We can’t tell you any more about it right now, but stay tuned.”

Three BBC America television shows have been added to the iTunes Store. Among the shows now available are:
Torchwood (Series 1 and 2)
Little Britain (Series 3 only)
Robin Hood (Series 2 only)
Sorry, no Doctor Who or Top Gear yet but it’s a good start and hopefully additional BBC America content will be added soon.

Today’s the day–Service Pack 3 for Microsoft’s Windows XP operation system is available to be downloaded from Microsoft Download Center or via Windows Update.
Included in SP3 are 1,100 hotfixes and patches as well as new features like Network Access Protection and Black Hole Router Detection.

TweakTown managed to get their hands on more info about the upcoming MSI Wind UMPC. An internal MSI document they say they have seen “claims 6 out of 9 design specification wins against the 7″ Eee PC.”

Employees at Apple retail stores will soon be wearing different shirts with slogans to go with their newly renamed job titles.
A “Mac Genius” will now be called a “Genius”, a “Mac Specialist” will now be called a “Specialist”, and a “Business Consultant” will now be called a “Business Partner”.

Supercomputer pioneer Cray announced that they would be working with Intel to together advance supercomputers.
Cray will help Intel develop the technology for clusters as well as to improve in-processor technology while Cray will begin using Intel processors for their supercomputers, replacing, among others, chips by Intel’s main rival AMD and their Opteron chips.
