Free Wi-Fi from AT&T for iPhone users [UPDATED]
A couple of months ago Starbucks announced that it was switching over to AT&T to provide Wi-Fi service at their trillion or so locations around the country. The transition was scheduled to take place throughout the year and it looks like some locations in Texas and California have already been switched and iPhone users are finding a new reason to love their device–free Wi-Fi.
Apparently AT&T hotspots are offering up free, unlimited Wi-Fi to iPhone’s via the portal page shown at the left not just at Starbucks locations, but anywhere you can connect to an AT&T hotspot.
Just connect to the hotspot, open Safari and try to access the Internet and this “Get Connected Now” portal appears. Just enter your 10-digit phone number, check the box that you agree to the terms of service, and you’re in.
UPDATE: Looks like this may have been switched off…check out this post for a bit more info.
UPDATE 2: Seems to be back on now–check out this post for more info.
