Free AT&T Wi-Fi for iPhone users turned off? [UPDATED]

Looks like the free AT&T Wi-Fi service that had popped up last week has suddenly gone away and now iPhone users are no longer able to get free Wi-Fi just by entering their phone number.

No word yet if it working to begin with was a fluke or just an early appearance of something that’s going to be officially announced down the road.
