Regarding the recent 700MHz spectrum auction by the FCC, apparently there are different ways to interpret “open access” for the block that Verizon paid $4.7 billion for, or at least that’s the game that Verizon seems to be playing.

When Nintendo released the Wii they knew that it would inspire out-of-the-box thinking and allow developers really try some new things but I’m pretty sure a pole dancing game wasn’t something that crossed their mind.
Ready or not, looks like Peekaboo Pole Dancing is serious about releasing this title and is actively seeking a partner.

According to a story in The Wall Street Journal Sprint is considering either spinning off or selling Nextel, “a dramatic acknowledgement that Sprint’s $35 billion acquisition of Nextel Communications in 2005 has been a failure.”

Former chief Nick Negroponte will be focusing full-time on fund raising and promotion and former part-time CFO Charles Kane will be the new president and COO.

EVGA has announced that they have begun shipping their new line of USB graphics adapters called “UV Plus+”. (plus plus? Eh, they can call it whatever they want I suppose.)

Although the LG Vu has been available at some AT&T retail stores since last month, the phone has only now become “official” and is finally listed on the AT&T website.

The upcoming BlackBerry 9000 smartphone is expected to have features like GSM / SPRS / EDGE / UMTS / HSDPA radio, quad-band GPRS/EDGE, HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100MHz, microSD card, 480×320 display, 2-megapixel, 802.11a/b/g Wi-FI.

After Microsoft’s announcement that it was officially withdrawing its bid to acquire Yahoo and that it would not attempt a hostile takeover, shares of Yahoo fell 22 percent ($6.34) to $22.33 in premarket trading.

Believe it or not, email spam was invented 30-years ago on May 3rd.
The first piece of spam was sent by DEC (a company acquired by Compaq in 1998 which itself was acquired by HP in 2001) to advertise their line of mini computers.
The message was intended for 393 people and contained this text:
