According to a story at mocoNews, a source is telling that Virgin Mobile is in talks with small, financially challenged carrier Helio to potentially merge the two company’s.
Until late last year Helio had been co-owned by Earthlink and Korean communications giant SK Telecom until taking full ownership with a $70 million buyout.

Online UK retailer PowerupMobile has announced that people who signup for a T-Mobile Web n Walk mobile broadband package for 24 months with them will also receive a free Asus Eee PC.

AMD has announced plans to add a few more cores to their server-level Opteron CPUs, specifically a 6-core chip code-named ‘Istanbul’, another 6-core chip code-named ‘Sao Paulo’, and a 12-core chip code-named ‘Magny-Cours’, each based on a new platform they’re referring to as ‘Maranello’.

Looks like free AT&T Wi-Fi for iPhone users is back and the feature is listed on AT&T’s website under iPhone calling plans (you can see for yourself here on the ‘PLAN’).
Look like iPhone users now officially have access to “more than 17.000 W-Fi hotspots, including Starbucks all for use in the U.S.”

When word came out that Apple had acquired chip designer P.A. Semi it wasn’t immediately clear what their motivation was.

According to PC World China, Philips is working on a new cellphone called the “Xenium x800″ which apparently will have an “e2e” screen which likely means “edge to edge”.
Very little is known about this handset at the moment, assuming it’s even real.

As promise, Adobe has updated their free, web-based photo editing application Photoshop Express to now include support for Flickr.
If all you need is a basic photo editor for fixing some colors, cropping, etc., Photoshop Express is definitely worth a look.

Microsoft has released a new version of their XNA Game Studio, version 3.0 CTP (short for Community Technology Preview)
New in this version supports creating games for the Zune which you can develop using C#.
