Philips working on touchscreen phone?

According to PC World China, Philips is working on a new cellphone called the “Xenium x800″ which apparently will have an “e2e” screen which likely means “edge to edge”.

Very little is known about this handset at the moment, assuming it’s even real.

From the pics that are floating around it should have Wi-Fi and a browser, but that’s pretty standard now and you don’t really need to see a screenshot or read a press release to guess that any phone that wants to be taken seriously now needs to have both of those.

Not much is known about this handset right now so to call it an ‘iPhone killer’ sounds a bit premature. And unlikely. But stay tuned–if I see anything else about this this handset worth looking at I’ll post it.
